Alleged Murder-Suicide Leaves Two Dead at Plateau Bar

Authorities are investigating an incident at a bar in the Le-Plateau-Mont-Royal area of Montreal, where a suspected murder-suicide resulted in two fatalities. The event occurred on a Friday night, with multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire around 11 p.m. at the establishment located on Mont-Royal Ave., near Laval Ave.

Murder-Suicide Incident Details

According to Constable Véronique Dubuc of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), investigators are working to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. As of Saturday morning, there was no indication that the shootings were related to organized crime.

Upon arrival, officers found customers fleeing the scene. The two men, who had sustained gunshot wounds, were pronounced dead at the scene, as stated by SPVM spokesperson Manuel Couture.
