Church News: Highlights from Saturday Afternoon Session

The 195th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints commenced with its afternoon session on October 4, 2025. This important event took place at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This session was led by Elder David A. Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The afternoon included both opening and closing prayers, delivered by Elder Christophe G. Giraud-Carrier, a General Authority Seventy, and Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman.
Musical Performances
Attendees were treated to uplifting music performed by a combined institute choir from Ogden and South Jordan, both located in Utah. The choir was directed by Alan Saunders and Alan Sackett, with Joseph Peeples and Linda Margetts accompanying on the organ.
