Statistics on Church Growth
- In the last three years, nearly 900,000 converts joined the Church.
- This influx represents roughly 5% of the Church’s total membership.
- Conversions increased by over 20% in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America during the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year.
- North America saw a 17% increase in conversions.
Elder Cook urged members of the Church to embrace and support both new and returning members. He reassured newcomers, stating, “We love you; we need you; the Lord needs you.” His encouraging words served to remind all members of their sacred responsibility to nurture those accepting the gospel.

About Elder Quentin L. Cook
Elder Cook was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 6, 2007. He is a descendant of Heber C. Kimball, an early missionary who spread the gospel beyond North America. Elder Cook married Mary Gaddie on November 30, 1962, in the Logan Utah Temple, and they have three children.
Before his calling as a General Authority Seventy in 1996, he served as vice chairman of Sutter/California Healthcare System, managing a network of 25 hospitals and over 26,000 employees.
As the Church continues to grow, Elder Cook implores all members to create an environment of acceptance and love. By doing so, they can help establish a community characterized by unity and righteousness, embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ.
