WR Chas Nimrod Impresses with Deep Runs

Chas Nimrod, the standout wide receiver for the University of South Florida (USF), is making headlines as the team’s newest deep threat. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 198 pounds, he has quickly established himself as a vital asset for the Bulls, who currently hold a 3-1 record.

Impressive Performance This Season

During the 2025 season, Nimrod’s explosive performance has drawn significant attention. He has recorded a total of 14 receptions for 367 yards, averaging an impressive 26.2 yards per catch. This places him sixth in the nation for receiving average.

Key Game Highlights

  • Against Miami on September 13, Nimrod made four catches for 128 yards.
  • On September 20, he followed up with four receptions for 119 yards, including touchdown catches of 42 and 22 yards.

With his current trajectory, Nimrod has the opportunity to become only the second player in USF history to achieve three consecutive 100-yard receiving games, following in the footsteps of Andre Davis, who accomplished this feat in 2013.

Coaches Praise His Talents

Quarterback Byrum Brown expressed confidence in Nimrod’s abilities, stating, “He sees it, then he goes and gets it.” Offensive coordinator Joel Gordon also highlighted Nimrod’s potential, indicating he can achieve great things if he continues to develop. This season, Nimrod has made notable receptions of 55, 53, 43, and 42 yards.

Background and Transition to USF

Nimrod transferred from Tennessee, where he played 23 games and recorded 29 catches for 315 yards. His time in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has provided him with invaluable experience. Head coach Alex Golesh, who previously recruited Nimrod, is encouraged by his transition to USF.

“He has become a really good route-runner,” Golesh said. “As he continues to improve, we need him to keep making explosive plays.”

A Personal Touch

Off the field, Nimrod describes himself as a “homebody.” He enjoys spending time with his rescue cat, Phil, and practices yoga, a discipline he adopted from his mother, a former yoga teacher. He initially played soccer and aimed to be a place-kicker before discovering his true passion for playing wide receiver.

As the Bulls prepare for their upcoming match against the Charlotte 49ers, Nimrod’s goal remains clear: “I just hope to keep improving and keep contributing.” His determination and skill have already made a deep impact this season.
