Polestar 3 Boosted: Faster Charging, 680 HP Performance

The Polestar 3 has recently undergone significant enhancements, making it a stronger contender in the electric vehicle market. With a more powerful core computing system and improved battery architecture, it demonstrates the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge technology.

Enhanced Performance and Charging

The latest updates include a computing upgrade that has increased the core system’s power eightfold. It now boasts 254 trillion operations per second, significantly up from the previous 30 trillion. This exceptional processing capability leads to smarter management of safety systems and battery performance.

In line with the quick advancements in electric vehicles, the Polestar 3’s battery architecture has been improved from 400V to 800V. This change brings it on par with competitors like the Porsche Macan Electric and Kia EV9. As a result, the vehicle’s peak DC charging capacity has surged from 250kW to 350kW. This enhancement allows drivers to charge their vehicle from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes—more than 25% faster than before.

  • Battery Sizes:
    • 92kWh (gross) for Rear Drive models
    • 106kWh (gross) for other variants
  • Range: Between 368 miles and 394 miles

The Polestar 3 is now equipped with a new motor that enhances performance across all variants. The top-spec model achieves an impressive 680 horsepower, whereas the standard Dual Motor version offers 544 horsepower, and the Rear Drive version generates 333 horsepower.

Driving Experience Improvements

The driving experience of the Polestar 3 has also been refined. The updates include a more engaging drive, with torque distribution optimized for rear-wheel performance. Additionally, new anti-roll bars and software tweaks for the steering aim to provide greater responsiveness.

Polestar’s CEO, Michael Lohscheller, emphasized the extent of these upgrades, proclaiming, “The upgrades to Polestar 3 are so extensive, it’s like an entirely new car.” The brand is committed to continually adding value through software and hardware updates.
