The chaotic incident unfolded around 10:30 EST (15:30 BST) when a gunman crashed his vehicle into the church building. Kirby recounted the shocking moment when they witnessed the shooter opening fire. “It was just so unexpected,” he said. “Once I saw the gun and started hearing him start shooting, it was just a lot of fear.”
