Broncos Elevate Fullback Adam Prentice to Active Roster

In a move to bolster their lineup, the Denver Broncos have officially promoted fullback Adam Prentice to their 53-man roster from the practice squad. This announcement, made on Wednesday, fills an open slot on the team’s roster without necessitating a corresponding move.

Denver’s Strategic Roster Enhancements

The Broncos also added defensive back A.J. Woods to their practice squad. Prentice, who was elevated for each of Denver’s first three games, needed to secure a spot on the active roster to continue playing for the team this season. His participation has been noteworthy, covering 16% of the Broncos’ offensive snaps and 30% of special teams snaps so far.

A.J. Woods: From Undrafted to Valuable Asset

A.J. Woods, an undrafted free agent from Pitt in 2024, brings significant potential to the Broncos’ practice squad. Previously, Woods spent much of the last season on the Eagles’ practice squad, after initially competing with the Commanders during the offseason. He was released by the Eagles in August 2025.

During his collegiate career at Pitt, Woods showcased his versatility by appearing in 59 games. His record includes:

  • 105 tackles
  • 8 tackles for loss
  • 2 sacks
  • 4 interceptions
  • 25 passes defensed
  • 1 forced fumble

El-Balad continues to monitor the Broncos’ strategic roster adjustments as the team aims for a successful season.
