Colts’ Spencer Shrader Sidelined for 2025 Season Remainder

Indianapolis Colts kicker Spencer Shrader will not return for the remainder of the 2025 season. He suffered ACL and MCL injuries during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders. This injury occurred when Raiders safety Tristin McCollum collided with Shrader’s kicking leg while he was attempting a point-after-touchdown (PAT).

Impact of Shrader’s Injury

The news was confirmed by Colts’ head coach Shane Steichen on Monday. Steichen expressed disappointment for Shrader, who was enjoying an impressive season. The Colts have scheduled workouts with several kickers this week in preparation for Week 6.

Shrader’s Performance

Before his injury, Spencer Shrader had a remarkable performance this season. He achieved a league-high completion rate, successfully making 13 out of 14 field goal attempts, which translates to 92.9 percent accuracy. He also converted all 14 of his PAT attempts over the five games he played.

  • Field Goals Made: 13
  • Field Goals Attempted: 14
  • Field Goal Percentage: 92.9%
  • PATs Made: 14

In recognition of his outstanding play, Shrader was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. His significant contributions will be hard to replace as the Colts move forward this season.

Next Steps for the Colts

The Colts are actively seeking a replacement and will conduct workouts with multiple candidates. The loss of Shrader is a substantial blow to the team’s special teams unit.
