Rush Announces Reunion Tour to Honor Drummer Neil Peart’s Legacy

Legendary Canadian rock band Rush has exciting news for fans: they will embark on their first tour in over a decade. Titled the “Fifty Something Tour,” this tour will honor the legacy of their late drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart. The band’s co-founders, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, are set to hit the road in 2026.

Celebrating Neil Peart’s Legacy

The Fifty Something Tour is a tribute not only to Rush’s extensive musical history but also to Peart’s extraordinary contributions. Anika Nilles, a talented German drummer, will take over percussion duties for the tour. Lee expressed the band’s deep sense of loss since Peart’s passing in January 2020, explaining that the music they created together remains core to their identity.

Tour Launch and Dates

The tour kicks off on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. This venue holds special significance as it was the site of Peart’s final concert with Rush in 2015. Following the Los Angeles dates, the tour will continue to:

  • June 18: Mexico City, Mexico – Palacio de los Deportes
  • June 24 & 26: Fort Worth, Texas – Dickies Arena
  • July 16 & 18: Chicago, Illinois – United Center
  • July 28 & 30: New York, New York – Madison Square Garden
  • August 7 & 9: Toronto, Ontario – Scotiabank Arena

Support from Neil’s Family

The tour has the full support of Peart’s widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and his daughter, Olivia Peart. They expressed their enthusiasm for this celebration of Rush’s music and the rich legacy left by Neil. In their statement, they emphasized Neil’s unique artistry as a drummer and lyricist, noting how deeply he influenced fans worldwide.

New Anthology Release

Alongside the tour, Rush will release “Rush 50,” a comprehensive anthology featuring 50 tracks in various formats, including:

  • Super Deluxe Edition
  • Rush Store Exclusive Super Deluxe Edition
  • Seven-LP Deluxe Edition
  • Four-CD Deluxe Edition
  • Digital Edition

This anthology will include reissues of significant tracks and a live recording of their final song performed together during the 2015 R40 Tour.

A Legacy of Classic Rock

Rush is renowned for classic hits like “Tom Sawyer,” “The Spirit of Radio,” and “Limelight,” all underscored by Peart’s exceptional drumming and poignant lyrics. The band’s success soared during the 1980s, where they achieved numerous top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, Rush’s impact on rock music remains enduring.

The Fifty Something Tour promises to be a remarkable celebration of Rush’s 50-plus years in music, reverberating with nostalgia and gratitude for Neil Peart’s remarkable legacy.
