Anne Dorval and Niels Schneider Lead Cinemania Festival
The 31st edition of the Cinemania Film Festival is set to take place from November 4 to November 16, 2023. This year, the festival has announced the composition of its juries, continuing its tradition of excellence.
Anne Dorval and Niels Schneider Lead the Jury
Renowned actors Anne Dorval and Niels Schneider will co-chair the jury for the Visages de la Francophonie competition. They will be joined by other prominent figures, enhancing the festival’s reputation.

Film Competition Highlights
This year’s festival features twelve films competing for awards. Notable entries include:
- Des preuves d’amour by Alice Douard, starring Monia Chokri
- L’inconnu de la Grande Arche by Stéphane Demoustier, featuring Xavier Dolan
- Nino by Pauline Loquès, with Théodore Pellerin
- Où vont les âmes by Brigitte Poupart, starring Sara Montpetit
- La petite dernière by Hafsia Herzi, featuring Nadia Melliti, who won Best Actress at Cannes
Additional Jury Leaders
Marcel Jean, General Director of the Cinémathèque québécoise and artistic delegate of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, will head the Quebec Films jury. Furthermore, the multidisciplinary artist Caroline Monnet will preside over the Short Films jury.
Morocco as the Honored Country
This year, Morocco is celebrated as the featured country. Selected Moroccan films include:
- Sirât by Oliver Laxe, featuring Sergi Lopez as a father searching for his daughter in the desert
- Badh by Guillaume de Fontenay, with lead actor Niels Schneider and composer Audrey Ismaël
