Typhoon Paolo (Matmo) is the 16th tropical cyclone to impact the Philippines in 2025. Latest Developments on Typhoon Paolo

Power Restorations

As of 1 AM on October 4, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported the successful restoration of two crucial transmission lines in Cagayan. These are:

  • Magapit-Camalaniugan 69kV Line restored at 10:08 PM on October 3.
  • Lal-lo-Santa Ana 69kV Line restored at 10:14 PM on the same day.

These restorations have helped restore normal operations following outages that affected the CAGELCO II customers.

Evacuations and Relief Efforts

The provincial government of Aurora is actively managing relief efforts. Currently, there are 21,340 individuals, which includes 7,214 families, sheltered in evacuation centers. Essential supplies and psychosocial support are being distributed to these evacuees.

In Isabela, evacuation numbers have surged, with at least 8,052 residents displaced as of the afternoon of October 3. This figure represents approximately 2,634 families. The towns of San Guillermo and Maconacon have seen the highest number of evacuees, with 1,088 and 1,008 individuals, respectively.

Flooding Concerns

Torrential rain from Typhoon Paolo has resulted in flooding in multiple areas. One significant incident occurred in Barangay Bolboc in Tuy, Batangas, where water levels rose considerably due to the storm’s impact.

Transmission Line Issues

On October 3, the Santiago-Alicia transmission line was reported down at around 10:26 AM. This disruption has impacted customers served by ISELCO I in Isabela and IFELCO in Ifugao.
