The assault took place at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue shortly after 9:30 a.m. local time. A member of the public alerted the Greater Manchester Police about a car advancing towards worshippers and the stabbing of one man.
In response, officers arrived quickly and fired shots at the suspect. Authorities stated that while the suspect is believed to be deceased, confirmation is pending due to concerns regarding suspicious items found on him. The bomb disposal unit was dispatched to assess the situation.
Casualties and Response
The injuries reported include four individuals, all in serious condition. Fortunately, no worshippers inside the synagogue were hurt during the events.
