Tyrese Gibson sought in Atlanta for animal cruelty charge following neighbor’s dog death according to police

An arrest warrant has been issued for “Fast and Furious” actor Tyrese Gibson following an incident involving his dogs and a neighbor’s pet, Fulton County police confirmed on Monday. The incident has stirred concern in the Buckhead district as community members seek answers surrounding the tragic occurrence.
Fulton County Police Probe Dog Attack
The Fulton County Police Department revealed that a 911 call came in on September 18 from a Buckhead resident who reported a fatal attack on his King Charles Cavalier Spaniel by Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs. These large breeds are commonly known as guard dogs. The Spaniel, a 5-year-old named Henry, was found dead in the front yard moments after being let outside by its owner.
Security Footage and Multiple Reports Raise Concerns
Security footage showed Gibson’s Cane Corsos prowling near a neighboring property shortly before the incident. Another resident contacted emergency services moments later, unable to reach her car due to the dogs blocking her way. Animal control intervened to escort her safely.
Authorities indicated that Gibson’s dogs had been reported roaming freely on five separate occasions in the week and a half leading to the attack on Henry. Despite receiving several warnings, the situation escalated to legal action.
Authorities Respond with Legal Action
On September 22, Tyrese Gibson initially agreed to surrender his dogs to Animal Services. However, he later requested additional time to make a decision. According to FCPD Capt. Nicole Dwyer, Animal Services commander, Gibson was warned that non-compliance could result in a warrant.
Following Gibson’s failure to comply, Fulton County Police secured search and arrest warrants for cruelty to animals. Upon executing the search warrant, officers discovered that Gibson was not present, and the dogs had been relocated.
Community and Legal Implications
The ordeal has heightened community awareness regarding animal control and responsibility within the Buckhead area. The Fulton County Police Department, alongside El-Balad news, continues to monitor the situation as legal proceedings develop.
