The Hamilton College women’s tennis team encountered tough competition at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women’s Northeast Regional Championships, held at Skidmore College on Saturday, September 27. The players faced strong opponents, resulting in a challenging day on the courts.
Singles Matches See Strong Opponents
Samantha Rainero, class of 2026, battled against Emily Greb from Rochester Institute of Technology in the singles draw. Despite a determined effort, Rainero was defeated 8-4. The match showcased the high level of skill present in the tournament, highlighting areas for growth and development.
Doubles Matches Present Tough Challenges
In doubles action, Rainero teamed up with Priyanka Challapalli, class of 2027, but the duo fell short against Vassar College’s Iris Li and Erin McCusker, with an 8-2 result. Meanwhile, the pairing of Muhan Cui, class of 2028, and Grace Qian, class of 2027, faced New York University’s Emma Kast and Vera Bondarenko, ending their match with an 8-4 loss.

The Continentals are now setting their sights on the upcoming Hamilton Fall Invitational. This highly anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12.
